How is my Tableau Public account different from my other Tableau accounts?

You need to have a Tableau Public account to save workbooks to the Tableau Public Server. This account is different than other Tableau accounts you may have. The different types of accounts are described below:
  • Tableau Public Account - This account is required for saving workbooks to Tableau Public. You can use this account to log into Tableau Public from a Tableau desktop product. Learn how to Create a Tableau Public Account.
  • Tableau Web Account - You may have a web account that you use to post topics and comments on the Tableau Software forums. Learn how to Create a Tableau Web Account.
  • Tableau Customer Account Center - When you purchase a Tableau product, you may be given permission to download the product and manage your license keys using the Customer Account Center.
